Early investigation of options for accommodation and uses for buildings can suggest solutions. Using our local knowledge on the ground we can identify opportunities and match them to creative design.

We have worked closely with Scalloway Waterfront Trust and Shetland Islands Council in particular in the Scalloway area and some of the early studies are now bearing fruit.

BURRA HISTORY GROUP:
A derelict thatched crofthouse has been identified for refurbishment as a home for a local history group. This project featured on the BBC programme "Restoration". Work, to be managed and carried out by the Amenity Trust is due to start soon.

SCALLOWAY STUDIES:
Various derelict or under-used buildings were surveyed and new uses considered for them. The above shows flats for rent around a central atrium, live/work units and five town houses.
