Jim Sutherland set up in practice in October 1994. Bernard Redman joined in June 1999, and the partnership was formed in May 2000.
Jim Sutherland became a Registered Architect in 1980 and has worked in Croydon, Aberdeen and with the Shetland Islands Council as well as Richard Gibson Architects. He enjoys designing and building houses and civic projects particularly. He is also committed to investigating and putting into practice energy saving and sustainable practices.
Bernard Redman qualified as an Architectural Technician and started work in York at Shepherd Design Group, with a spell at RMJM in Preston, before moving to Shetland in 1973. He worked in Richard Gibson Architects for 25 years working on a variety of projects in Shetland. He settled in Bressay and built his own house there. He is particularly interested in historic building techniques and local history as well as innovative and sustainable modern strategies.
Joyce Adamson has extensive experience as a legal secretary and provides administrative support for the firm.
